Ok my family has an Arlo, Nest, and now Wyze. Nest was my first camera at $180 for 1 camera. I hated that it didn’t record for long unless you paid for the service and also that it wasn’t wireless. The Arlo I installed in my moms home it records for a week is wireless and rechargeable, but comes with a hefty price tag of $600 for 3 camera set up. I wanted 2 more cameras and saw that the Wyze had good reviews. I thought for $25 a camera how could I lose and I’m so glad I did I bought it. These are for my first impressions. I haven’t played with it long enough to really give you more detail. There is a user-friendly ap and I have an IPhone XS the use of the ap and the quality of the pictures is pretty damn good for $25. Check out my pictures. I do have the Wyze camera and Nest camera behind glass windows. For the reviewers who complained that it doesn’t turn off and it records them naked….look I have dogs and I primarily use this to check on my new puppy. I wouldn’t install a camera where I would be walking around naked. Whether I could turn off the system or not. Sure it can deter burglars but I have a 90lb German Shepherd whose bark can make your skin crawl. I don’t necessarily need to record but this camera has that option with the additional purchase of an SD card. I have to dock it a bit because it doesn’t have all the bells and whistles of the Arlo. It isn’t wireless and it doesn’t record the way the Arlo does but I don’t really need that option. Look where this camera lacks it makes up in price. I just ordered 2 more. Also too bad it’s not for outdoor use but my cameras I mount inside in front of windows. It can reach super high temperatures where I live and I don’t want to risk my Nest came melting on me. I installed a set of baxia solar powered lights and for under $200 I have a home security system with 4 cameras, recording capability and excellent image quality.

I’m coming from the universe where paying $100 a pop for each Nest camera I added. was reasonable Over the years their camera improved, but only incrementally, they were not so easy to set-up, temperamental once setup and they always ran HOT – which was concerning.Along comes Wyze, I waited till v2 dropped to try them out. I have 5 cameras so far, and plan to add another 8 over the next year assuming they continue to work.I’m just frigging shocked at this product. First, the device is beautiful – from the unboxing to the range of motion, sturdiness of the build, and the magnetic disc you can opt to use to hang it. The cord is flat (and long), it’s like an Apple product. Very well thought through and executed on.The video quality is also very good, I’m not sure how the resolution compares to the Nest/Dropcam but it works for me. I have some at the top of a 22′ wall looking out from the house and indeed I wish the resolution were higher, but I’m not sure any camera could deliver on these very long / wide shots. For house interior, garage, front of the house, pool area – it delivers exactly what I need it to – the faces of people coming in, what’s going on etc.$20 a pop is just nuts. I mean, the thing actually speaks to you when you setup each device, guiding you through the install. Just about the easiest tech device setup I’ve ever accomplished. The app is similarly easy to use and intuitive. When you plug in a micro sd card it just shows up etc.Wishlist:- Wish there were a Mac app – not just app on my phone- Wish I could turn all of my cameras on to motion recording at once (like when leaving the house) instead of one-by-one- Wish there were a true waterproof-housing created by the company (right now using DIY solution)Wyze must be so disruptive to other companies like Nest etc. My own gut feeling says that the negative reviews you see may be planted here. Verified buyer or not. $20 to leave a negative review against a competitor is darn cheap. I’ve had no problem with security, I have a very strong password on my account and if anyone is getting to my cameras directly through the servers – I’ve never seen a hint of it.All my cameras point out into the house, all anyone would see is clothed people walking around, living life. I have one in my bedroom but it’s on a simple extension cord with a switch. I simply switch it off when I’m home and on when we leave the house.. A camera with no power can’t record much. Who is to say that Nest or any other firm could do better in the long run. On a monthly basis we see one giant company after the next get hacked.. It can (and probably will) happen to most companies. The common sense answer (for me), is if you have ANY camera in your kids room, or your bedroom – have it on a power switch (like you do your lights), and watch how you place them – not towards your computer desk etc.Love this company – mainly because I love their product and how easy, enjoyable and effective it has (so far) been. If things change I’ll be the first to update my review.

purchased this double pack of Wyze cameras for about fifty bucks from here on amazon. this is a great buy. the set up is easy peasy to do using the Wyze app which you have to install on your phone.put one of these cameras in the garage to take a live look inside the garage to see if family got home, and also to make sure the big garage door is closed. the night vision works, but of course it’s mostly dark at night for objects in the distance far away from the camera. but it shows me the edges/outlines of the car(s) to let me know which car(s) are there or not. really just want to know who’s home based on which car(s) are in the garage or not. during the day when some light gets in from the outside, can of course see more in the garage.put the second other camera in a window by the front door. primarily set this second camera to have the motion detection turned on but turned off the night vision because the built-in infrared lights on the camera reflect back from the window which at night then blinds the camera. there is some light outside from other houses and so can see shapes at night. but the camera looking out the window by the front door works better with motion detection during daylight. will have to figure out a workaround for the front door at night — like maybe keeping the regular porch light turned on at night using a timer. [EDIT: have since installed a RING Doorbell2 outside the front door. the RING Doorbell has built-in nightvision with IR which is rated at 850nm, the same 850nm required for the WYZE cam, and since the RING doorbell is outside, the RING infrared works for both the RING doorbell and the WYZE cam pointed out from behind the frontdoor side window without blinding the WYZE cam; but since the RING doorbell’s IR only turns on when the RING doorbell cam’s nightvision is on, then have to use the RING app and the WYZE app on separate phones to view LIVE video at the same time — otherwise can view recorded WYZE video from the WYZE cam to see the outside being lit up for a moment or however long the RING doorbell’s infrared is turned on.]what is nice is you can remotely view what the cameras are looking at by using the Wyze app when you are elsewhere. there are the free 12-second recordings which are stored in the cloud. but that’s only 12 seconds meaning when the 12 seconds are up then the recording is cut off in the middle of whatever activity was being detected. you could subscribe to Wyze’s Complete Motion Capture service for a dollar-and-a-half per camera per month for longer continuous recordings stored in the cloud. that’s not too bad if you only want to subscribe for just one camera — but that could add up to be too much if you want to subscribe for a lot of cameras. another option is to put an 32gb sd card in the camera to record longer locally on the camera. [EDIT: put my extra 32gb sd card in the cam and it’s recording on the sd card for me. will have to compare between Wyze’s Complete Detection Capture service and using the sd card to see which is better — but may end up using both? oh, and yes, you can access the sd card recordings on the Wyze app. although don’t know about extracting the videos.][EDIT: there seems to be either an almost instantaneous notification alert which you get on your phone — or there is a delay when you get a notification alert of activity seen by the cam. doesn’t seem to be instantaneous notification in real time ALL the time. maybe because it has to start recording before alerting you? oh well that may be close enough to real time.]so far myself very pleased with this double pack of Wyze cameras — and plan to get more because they are so inexpensive and easy to set up and use.

I started life with 2 of these. I liked these so much, I bought 8 more, for a total of 10. I mounted an older iPad next to my front door to use exclusively for this purpose using an Anker tablet mount, since we’re not really using the iPad anyway. The first camera that is right outside my front door also doubles as an intercom. When I press the microphone icon in the wizeapp, I can tell someone I’ll be right there,,,, and they can answer back. There is only a 1 second delay.Using the wyzeapp, I can toggle from camera to camera as needed. It’s a little clunky, but the system is made up of stuff that I already had around my house except the cameras, so I’m not out much money for what I got. The app is made for a phone, so when you first view it via an ipad, it’s in vertical mode with is a bit annoying. But when you enlarge it, it goes into landscape mode, which is workable. So when you flip from camera to camera, it goes back vertical. If they made an iPad app that would be perfect. Not really complaining,,,,, for the price these camera hold their own against the bigger players. For less than $300 I built a 10 camera security station that I can toggle from camera to camera and constantly monitor the perimeter of my property. I’m very happy. We also have these tied in to our echo show 2. There is about a 5 second delay using Alexa, verses a 2 second delay using the wyzeapp. But it’s phenomenal what we can do with these for so little money.Jut for a side note, if your buying these to tie in to Alexa, it works but their server is down about 20 percent of the time. Alexa will just say “hmmmm, I cant seem to connect to the camera. The wizeapp still works fine during this issue. Using them for Alexa into an echo show is a pretty crude way. I bought these specifically to use with Alexa,,,, but now I have them all running, I find I prefer the wizeapp anyway. Less delay and more dependable.

I recommend this Item if you are starting out with using ip cameras. They are super affordable and easy to use and instal.Let me tell you you download the wyze app, make a account and it give you easy instructions on how to use. It easy as you just plug it in and use the button on the bottom till it says camera ready to connect. Then you get a QR code to scan and bam you are done. This camera is not water proof but they do sell cases. The camera is pretty good, it has motion sensing, night vision and it will record events like sound and motions if you place it.If it sees a animal or a person it will give you a warning sign saying human. It also has a built in mic and speaker so you can both listen and talk to someone from the camera. It comes with a metal ring and adhesive attaches so you can stick it where ever you want as the bottom of the camera is magnetic. You can also instal some rstp fireware as they do not come with it, that is if you want to be able to add it to an NVR and it has a micro SD slid on the bottom for local storage.I forgot you can use this as a dash cam, like a go pro and also a webcam, this is all in the presence of a power source though.I recommend this.

These are amazing security cameras! I bought these after experiencing what I thought was a burglary (turns out my HOA just broke into my unit without notifying me lol) while I was gone, and I really just needed some means of feeling safe in my home. These cameras, and the Ring Alarm system I later installed, have really helped with that! The video quality is fantastic and I appreciate the notifications I get from the app for noise and sound alerts. Day or night, I get a crystal clear image and pretty clear sound, and I’ve used the camera mics before to get my dad’s attention when he house sits for me.It’s because of these cameras that I also ended up ordering the Wyze outdoor cam. I haven’t set that one up yet, but I’m really satisfied with the affordability and usability of the cameras from this company. Love them!

Wyze cameras are, by far, the best security for the money. After doing extensive research I settled on Wyze cameras and I am very satisfied. I now use three of them on the exterior of my house (with plastic weather-resistant housing) and one on the inside. They can be quickly and easily set-up and used over wi-fi and moved from place to place with ease (such as to monitor a pet or to be used as a baby monitor). These cameras are not designed to be used in poor weather conditions, but there are easy ways to work around that. Mine have been outside for over two years now with no problems whatsoever! They are mounted under the eves of my house inside third-party weather resistant housing with a small amount of silicone sealant on the seams. The motion detection is very effective and can be set to only record people, if desired. The cameras automatically switch to night-vision in the dark which is awesome and very effective. However, the night vision picture seems to be better if there is some ambient light, such as a street lamp, or other outdoor light. Though the cameras do have built in “IR” lights for that purpose.Probably the best feature of Wyze cameras is the free cloud storage which stores motion recordings for two weeks – a service that nearly all companies charge for. The storage can also be supplemented by purchasing a separate micro SD card (highly advised). The only down side to these cameras that I can find is that they rely on your wi-fi bandwidth. That means that if you have slow or spotty internet the picture quality might suffer. Fortunately, you can adjust the quality of each camera’s picture (up to 1080).Overall, these cameras are durable, effective, and an excellent purchase.

I bought 3 of the basic Wyze cameras and one Wyze Pan camera at the end of 2018 so I have been using them for several months now. I am extremely pleased with these cameras. Like all the reviews I’ve seen say, these cameras have the quality and features of the much more expensive cameras. I love the fact that I can have onboard 24/7 recording and I do not have to pay any subscription fees for cloud storage. They are constantly updating the app with more features and functionality and are coming out with new add-on products. So far these appear to be a great product from a great company!EXPERT TIP: I learned this through some testing and previous experience with reported maximum MicroSD card size in Tesla Model 3 cars. The 32GB size limitation appears to be incorrect and only specified due to the fact that Windows computers can only format USB drives and MicroSD cards using the FAT32 file system to a maximum size of 32GB via the GUI interface. It is entirely possible to format any of the external USB drives, SD cards, or MicroSD cards of a much larger size with the FAT32 file system. If you Google “windows format fat32 command line” you will find numerous articles showing you how to do it either via the built in command line tools or using third party utilities. Mac computers can also format these larger storage devices to FAT32 via the GUI or the command line. In the MacOS GUI the file system format is just called MS-DOS (FAT).I am successfully using Samsung 128GB MicroSD cards in all of my Wyze cameras. With the 128GB cards I am able to store approximately 21 days of rolling 24/7 camera footage. I have not tested, but suspect that 256GB MicroSD cards will also work (this is based on the fact that I am using 256GB USB stick to store music on and plug into my Tesla which says that the maximum size for the required FAT32 format is 32GB).App hint: if you are viewing the locally stored footage you can pinch the timeline to essentially zoom in and find what you are looking for much more quickly than if you search in the fully expanded timeline.

These cameras are great, I had ordered two the first time and now I ordered two more, it’s better to order two because you get a better price. As far as the quality goes these are great. They are the same quality as the Ring and Nest cameras. Trust me these provide the same quality for less money and that is worth it for me. I am an I.T. Person and I did my extensive research on these and I certainly say these are worth it for sure. I recommend you get the SD cards on the side if you want continuous recording but if not, then the 14 day free cloud storage is great as well. 14 days for free is all you need but it only records motion events which are 12 seconds long. FYI these cameras have to be plugged into a wall outlet at all times in case anyone was wondering. If you want to mount these outside these are great also even though they say indoor cameras. I bought some outdoor cover mounts on amazon as well, they have different kinds it’s just up to you or what you like. Post 10/5/2019

So where to begin? I have written another review on the panning camera and absolutely love these gems. I have an older wifi camera system that I was looking to replace with something smaller and less visible and found these while surfing on Amazon. I had not heard or seen of them before then. I bought a 2 pack of the cubes and 1 of the pan and scan cameras by wyze. Of course they arrived within a few days (feeding my excitement) and I was stunned. They were beautifully boxed and everything I needed was included except the SD card. I wanted to have constant video so bought the SD card, although you don’t have to. Yo do need to download the Wyze app to your phone to watch your footage. This also integrates with Alexa. I have not asked her to control my cameras yet because I control them through my phone. While I love the pan and scan camera, there are times and places you only need a stationary camera. This one does not move but basically has the same qualities. The microphone is a bit different on the stationary camera – you have to press and hold it to use it. I have not used it for two way communication yet and probably don’t need to. I bought these for a few areas inside of my house that I wanted coverage such as my office and my dog room. I don’t need to the cameras to move in these areas but have outer doors that should I have someone break in and get passed the outside cameras, I want a clear look at their face. I should mention that I supposedly have a 200mbs wifi connection, but it isn’t always that speed, sometimes it bottoms out as they all do which is no reflection on these cameras – it’s the cable company. I set these cameras up about a week ago and because they’re not hard wired with coax cable, I can change them around wherever I might need them to be as long as I have an outlet within 6′ (by the way, I recently bought the extension cables too so the camera can be 26′ from an outlet). I think that’s so cool and versatile. They come with magnets so you can peel and stick the magnet up and then the camera to the magnet if you wish. There are optional mounts for inside and out too if you want to go that route. I simply have mine up high, looking down and out through my doors so I see most of the room and through the door. I work quite a distance from home and am able to keep an eye on things from my office or anywhere in the world I happen to be as long as I have wifi. My existing/old wifi camera system cost me $800 for 6 cameras and at $25-30 a piece for these cameras, you CAN’T beat it. You DON’T have to live without added security. The color, clarity and night vision on these things are great! With the SD cards, you can record and keep many recordings (with the dogs, my cameras are tripped constantly), set the sensitivity levels, and so on. You won’t be sorry you bought these. If you have crappy wifi, you might have an issue or not, I’m not sure – I’m VERY pleased if you can’t tell from this review. I am so thrilled with these that I just bought 5 more cameras which will go around the outside of my home. I have not tried these outside yet but pointing out through my inside windows is perfect. I see everything and nobody outside can see them because they are inside. Peek a boo! Haha.. Seriously, try it, you’ll like it.
