Great Cat Feeder. I actually use this outside under a well covered patio. I chose this gumball type dispenser since I thought the ants would be less likely to find the food v/s the typical feeders that are flatter with the spinning opening on top. One month in and no ants and I think it keep the food a little fresher than the other kinds. You can control the number of servings for each feed. A “serving” is really small, just like a tablespoon. Then there is a manual button you can push to dispense food when you want to give an instant snack. This could go more than 7 days depending on how much food you have it spit out. I now use it most of the time even though I got it for weekends away.

My cat is very food driven. I needed an automatic feeder, but I kept reading reviews feeders saying that their cat broke in and ate their food all at once. And I knew that if I gave her the chance my kitty would do exactly that. But I decided to try this one out because it seemed like the most difficult feeder for pets to get into (for a reasonable price). Here’s what I love about this one in a few bullet points:– difficult for cats to get into (my cat has used her paw to bat out a few from inside, but not more than just a couple loose pellets)– even knocked over, it doesn’t break open– this thing has a POWER CHORD. I love not dealing with batteries!– easy to open/close to refill food (and holds a decent two weeks worth of food!)– It takes up more space vertically than horizontally, so I don’t have to worry about it taking up too much floor spaceGranted, this isn’t the most intuitive and user friendly product out there, but if you know how to read instructions, I don’t think it’s too difficult. The people on here who are complaining about it being confusing I don’t think gave it a solid try. There are more user friendly versions out there, but they cost much more. For the price, it’s absolutely amazing, and honestly better than I expected. I have had it for about a month now and I love it. Definitely recommend!

This cat feeder is worth every penny! I used to have a simple timed feeder that I could use sometimes but my cat easily figured out how to get into it. The game every time I used it for her was “When I get home, where would I find the pieces of the feeder today?” She has not been able to get into this feeder yet! When I first got it, I let her mess with it without stopping her. I kept a watchful eye to see if she would figure out how to get food out. She even reached her paw up the chute and still couldn’t get anything. Now, she just doesn’t mess with it anymore. The minute she hears it start up, she comes running. The noise of it releasing food scared her a bit the first few days but now she loves the sound because it means food!I have yet to use the battery option but plan to use that when I go out of town. I would hate for the electricity to go off and her food not release. The only thing I wish was different is if you could use both the battery and plug in at the same time. That way, you could plug it in but if the electricity goes out, it would automatically use the batteries. As far as I can tell, the button on the bottom has to be flipped one way for electricity and one way for batteries so that wouldn’t work.I would recommend this to anyone that needs an automatic feeder. I made it a bit silly and added google eyes to it. 🙂

Very easy and straightforward to set up. It has a very long USB cord (short would have been fine but some may need this). It holds a boat load of food. I feed our cat once a day on 7 meal size option (which is about a half to 3/4 of a cup) and after filling it up exactly one week ago, it barely looks like any food is missing from the food reservoir. I love this unit because it is powered from the wall outlet and that my cat can’t stick her paw in the dispenser hole to fish for extra food. My last feeder was plauged by both of these issues and I must say, this one works 100 times better than it. Also, the peace of mind knowing your pet will consistently be fed at the same time every day is a big plus. I highly recommend this feeder. 10/10… would definitely buy again.

The vet said my cat had to lose weight or she would be diabetic. So I started her out with 4 meals, and gradually cut her back to the vets suggestion. The great thing is now she goes and cries to the machine instead of howling at me day and night. It works GREAT!

I have two cats – one 10.5 lbs and one 7.5 lbs – and feed either Blue Buffalo or Nulo, which are both small in terms of kibble size. The cats get along and both of them can eat at the same time. Quick set up (if you can program an alarm clock and press two buttons at the same time you can program this) and pretty precise measuring as others have mentioned. I tested 8 size meal dispensed with a 1/3 measuring cup and it was accurate to a teaspoon.Helpful to know:1. The mic speaker to record a greeting is on the bottom. If you want your playback to be a decent volume, lift up the feeder and speak directly into it.2. The 1-39 meal size settings correspond to grams, where 1 = 5 grams and 39 = 195 grams. It’s not exact, but for a close comparison you can use a cup to gram conversion chart for AP flour (see google), where 1/3 cup is 43 grams, or a “8 size” meal. To feed my two cats 2/3 cup each (4/3 cup total) per day, I do a total of 4 “8 size” meals. YMMV.3. The lid stays pretty firmly on – even if it tipped over the kibble would stay inside.4. It’s easy to skip a meal if you want to feed wet food – before meal’s preset time you switch the meal to “off”, then once it’s past your preset time, switch it back to “on”.Things I wish it did but am not going to complain about since it was a great price:1. I wish the “manual” meal size was adjustable. Instead it will only give a 5 gram snack. If you wanted it to dispense a full meal on-demand, you’d have to press and hold the “manual” button for three seconds and wait for the 5 grams to dispense 8 times, or whatever size your usual meal is.2. I wish the black part was somewhat see-through so I easily see when I need to refill it.3. I wish the bowl was bigger and/or detachable. If the food dispensed scatterwise onto a feeding mat, my cats would eat slower.4. I wish I could plug it in but also have batteries inside for backup if the cats unplugged it or there was a power outage.

I work long hours and my cat doesn’t believe in slow feeding so this is the perfect solution. It’s easy to set up (I didn’t set up the voice feature, so I can’t speak about that) and holds about a month’s worth of food for me. My cat has done her best to tear it apart to get the food out but the smooth design means she can’t get a good grip on it. Although she’s done plenty of damage to the screen of it (I’ve been using it for two months now).I worked out that 4 feedings of meal size 4 (20 oz) is about a cup of food. It does drop a few pieces of food at random, or when she sticks her paw way up there, but not enough to cause an issue. Overall, she’s happier and there’s less damage to the house now that she sits by the feeder for a few hours a day! This is the best money I’ve spent on my cat.

I bought this to relieve my neighbor’s duty of feeding our cat while we are away. It was delivered very quickly, just in time for our work-cation at Jekyll Island. Very easy to program time and portion for feeding. The feeder seems to have worked properly while we were gone (hopper level down what seems to be the proper amount and my cat was smiling) I let it run for a few more days just to determine it everything was ok. Seems to be doing it’s job very well. Happy purchase!

Purchased for outside/basement cats. Programming is ultra easy. Plug in feature is great but uses batteries if no plug available. I’ve been using it plugged in. The recording feature is hysterical for humans, don’t know if the cats pay attention to it. The most impressive features of this little R2D2 robot looking cat feeder is the fact that the top where you fill the food locks in place. We have a problem with raccoons getting into the cat’s food so program last feeding for 4 p.m. so the dish is emptied by the cats before the little nocturnal scoundrels get at the food. In their raccoon rage they have bitten, scratched, slobbered on and tossed the thing around like a soccer ball. I found it on every corner of the porch before I finally duct taped it to a big box so they couldn’t toss it around and reinforced the plug connection so it didn’t come lose if they did manage to pull it free. My point…the feeder is still working flawlessly albeit it looks like it went through the war!!!!

And that means a lot. My cat demolished a Petmate one, so I had to give up on the dream of an automatic feeder and sleeping in mornings. My cat is a food monster, and must be on a strict diet. She has tried to smash this thing, but has failed for several weeks now. I do keep it wedged so she can’t knock it over and get to a few loose pieces, but I think it would definitely survive tipping without giving up the entire supply of food.It was super easy to set up; I’m not a tech person at all and did it within a few minutes. I can’t say anything about the battery life because I’ve only had it for a month. The food portions get fairly small, which is good for an air fern like mine, who can stay a good weight just by looking at food. She normally eats 5 tablespoons a day and with this I’ve stretched that out over four meals a day.I’m still just baffled that she can’t get into it. She has destroyed much larger and more expensive machines. Really, I bought this because I thought it was cheap enough to fail. But it has survived the monster that is constantly convinced I am starving her. This is great for my erratic schedule and her stress level. This thing needs six stars for resisting my beast.UPDATE: I’ve been using this for months now, and while I won’t downgrade my rating completely, I will say that there are a few improvements that could be made:1. It needs to be easier to clean. Wiping the bowl area out with a cloth really isn’t a thorough clean. Ideally, it would have an insert that could be removed and properly sanitized.2. A way to see into the food container. It’s not obvious when it’s running out of food, and twice now I’ve run out without knowing. Having a small window isn’t going to significantly oxidize the food.3. I wish it would save the settings after being unplugged, even for a short period of time. I’ve had a few times when I’ve had to completely reprogram the whole thing because the plug was separated from the USB cable momentarily. I suppose I should put in batteries, I’m just worried about them dying and the cat not being fed, although this seems to be more an issue with the food running out.
