I ordered the 2-pack of white light bulbs along with an Echo Dot. Was a super great deal, and I love how easy it was connecting the bulbs due to them not requiring a hub. Even if the light switch accidentally gets turned off, they connect again almost instantly when turned back on. Haven’t had them for long, but they are super bright when set to 100% which gives plenty of light with just one. I am really pleased with the purchase.

I don’t know how I went through life not knowing to switch to these type of lights? The PH LB is the greatest invention ever! It was extremely easy to install and it run on bluetooth and not WiFi so if your WiFi gets cut off for whatever reason you’re still going to be able to turn on your lights. I installed these on a ceiling fan that had 2 conventional light bulbs and I had to make an effort to turning it off/on. Not anymore, with the LB’s I’m able to turn the lights on/off within a matter of a few seconds without and problems. I could be laying in bed trying to sleep and I could dim the light right from the app and make them into “night lights.” I absolutely love these and I would recommend them to any other fellow lazy people out there. Lol.Con(the only two I encountered):1) you can not pair more than one smartphone up to the same set of light bulbs.2) you need a PH hub in attaching 5+ light bulbs to one smartphone.I am very happy with my purchase and it works just as I imagined. It’s a simple solution for someone who’s looking to fully automate their homes with “smart devices.” I won’t ever need the PH Hub as I only need two bulbs to work my ceiling fan in the master bedroom.

These bulbs are expensive and cost more than they should, they know they are the best right now and they are going to make you pay for it until a viable competitor comes along. These have great adjustable white, color, and brightness levels. I’ve never used them without a hub but you need a hub to unlock all the potential. You can then set up many different configurations and actions.Setup is easy and quick. The bulbs work reliably with the hub. The hub, bulbs, and accessories receive occasional software updates which are important for security and functionality improvements.I am using a couple of blubs behind my PC monitor with the Philips Hue Sync program and it works well. I have 19 bulbs in total around my home and am pretty happy with them. Using my phone and app control has been totally reliable. I also have them linked to my Goole assistant and that works pretty well but sometimes there seems to be a problem between Google and Philips because the assistant will say it is having a problem reaching Hue and you will need to retry a command.Even though they are expensive I think they are the best overall and would recommend them if you think that you want to pay the price.

As of now, we only have these bulbs in our bedroom in the wall sconces by our bed. I am very picky about light, as is my husband. During the day, I like a brighter, cooler temperature light. In the evenings, I prefer dimmer warm lighting. These bulbs solved all of my problems.Installation was a breeze. Downloaded the app and it located the bulbs immediately. This process literally took two minutes. Once in the app, you can change the color temperature of the bulbs and the brightness! Even better, you can have the lights connected so they both change to the same settings, or you can change them individually.I’m very pleased. Will probably get these in our living room lamps, as well.

So most people would see Sengled as a better buy in general, but what really pushed me to buy and use these instead–Is that all in one capability. Sengled didnt have e26 bulbs in white ambiance to sync up with these, when Philips did.On top of that, Philips hue app was pretty quick and the best part–No $60 hub.Pros:- Quick setup (I advise setting them all up at once because bluetooth is weird with one at a time)- Hub optional- Just as bright to me (maybe a bit darker, not noticeable) to sengled bulbsCons:- When using Alexa routines (like shutting down or turning on lights), it would turn them off/on one at a time. Not sure if this is an expected function but its better all together. Hopefully in a later update- Higher cost than most aftermarket bluetooth/wifi bulbs, but also more efficient right now- Must use seperate app if you dont have a hub(not a big deal honestly)For the price you’re paying, these are good for syncing with a home. If you just want it for a lamp or bedroom lights and thats all, I recommend another brand.

First things first. If you are new to setting up the home automation etc. understand you HAVE TO HAVE the Phillips Hue Hub in order to control these lights. Once you have the Hub installed onto your network the rest is a breeze. * again if you do not have the HUB, look for a starter kit with the bulbs and hub!Quality is top notch, and i have stuck with Phillips accessories for my home network. Do I feel they are over priced, yes in some areas for sure but compared to some of the other knock of brands ive also tried I feel safe in saying i know 100% what i am getting with the Phillips hue family of products. These lights offer a clean white light effect with no yellow tint. Dim controls are quick and smooth with no flickering issues. life span, i have never had a bulb go out in the 1.5-2 years of using them.As an IOS guy I can insure if you have the hub and a wireless network this is full controllable with apple home kit using your cell phone and or iPad’s etc.

I have 2 for my outside garage, one for my porch and one for my living room. All 4 are paired with Alexa. I don’t understand why reviews state they can’t pair. Make sure you have 3rd generation and let your echo discover it. Make sure you understand Alexa app…that’s all you need….NO HUB!I have them set on routines to go on and off everyday. Works perfect.

In my den, I have an antique chandelier that has hung there for many years. Over the past few years, it has been getting harder and harder to find good, long lasting bulbs that fit. Too many of my local hardware and home stores are getting rid of the smaller size bulbs and when you can find them, they are getting more and more expensive. So I finally decided to bite the bullet and buy 8 of these Hue Candelabra bulbs and make my antique chandelier “smart”. After 24-hours with the bulbs in, I am in love! The color temperatures provide incredible ambiance lighting for the den. From bright white, to daylight (yellowish) and the awesome “candle” setting (orange/flame color) you can really set a scene for all time of day and night. Plus, since I use Hue brand bulbs in other rooms of my house, I know the quality and the ease of using them. These literally may be the last bulbs that I ever have to buy for that chandelier because they are high-quality and long-lasting. I couldn’t be happier!

I own two, six-story buildings that are fully outfitted with Phillips Hue smart tech. Some of the floors have over 100 smart lights each. Over the last couple of years, I have experimented with different brands and different hubs. There are a lot of other really great options out there but when it comes to reliability, consistency, and integration – I believe Phillips Hue is the best investment if you are looking to go the extra mile with smart lighting.

I have a huge number of built-in lighting in the form of recessed lights and wall sconces, so I went the way of replacing wall switches and dimmers with smart devices rather then the lamps themselves. I also went with hubless technology, so my interest in a Hue hub is incredibly low. These lamps work great via bluetooth to the Gen 3 Echo devices I have in the room. Setup was a snap. 1) install bulb, 2) do a discover devices on the Alexa app, 3) add to the room and 4) rename the lamp to something useful. When done with both lamps, I grouped them in Alexa so they could be treated as a unit. Every thing works as expected, off/on and dimming. They are a bit brighter than the lamps they replaced, too. Win.
